AJ is a versatile musican. Singing and playing a variety of styles including Musical Theatre, Jazz, Swing, light classical. She took a keen interest in music from an early age taking part in many youth productions, orchestras and bands. She plays the oboe & saxophone but her first love is singing. She studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where she performed & played for various organisations including the Welsh National Youth Opera, BBC National Chorus of Wales in productions of The Mikado, Chichester Psalms, Company & Oliver to name but a few. She has been lucky enough to perform with Principals from the Royal Opera House, including names such as Alfie Boe and for world renowned conductors such as Richard Hickox.
She has always loved a variety of music. Being an MD for her schools gospel choir she found her love for arranging for female voices and jumped at the chance to do the same for The Sweet Serenades where she is one third of the swing trio, resident MD & arranger.
AJ is the Musical Director for award winning Stage One Youth (Miss. Saigon, Grease), having played in the pit for their shows as well as waving the baton. She is Assistant MD for Wycombe Swan Youth Projects on their last 4 productions, including Footloose, Singin' in the Rain, Into the Woods & Dr. Dolittle.
AJ plays the oboe with Maidenhead Concert Band and performs regularly with them . She has played in the pit for many local shows, including Les Miserable, Miss. Saigon, Yeoman of the Guard, The Wizard of Oz to name a few.
